Triticum spelta in da house.

Ya huh, ya huh!!

Brasserie de Blaugies
does us a solid, shipping some of it's delightful Saison D'Epeautre!! This ain't just your run of the mill Saison either. Nope, nope. As the name suggests, this tart lil' number harkens back to simpler more medieval times, using both barley & spelt (epeautre) in the mash!! Whoa, neat.

Result? One hecka bubbly & refreshing beer with some ancient wisdom under it's cap.

A cat named Sartori.

Well, I suppose that it is about time we let the cat out of the bag. After a week of having folk being met with the pleasant surprise of seeing a bottle of rare, hoppy goodness on the shelf, it is time to put out the word...

Driftwood's seasonal Sartori Harvest IPA is at the Acres!!
In our opinion, and many others, Sartori is one of the most delicious and desirable offerings from the exceptional brewery.

Jason Meyer, Kevin Hearsum, & co. always bring a beer with impeccable balance; here, the floral/citric fresh hops meet marmalade malt sweetness to create flavours nothing short of devine. With the rich, velvety feel on the palate & glowing copper colour, there is really nothing more to ask for (except maybe a few more bottles).

"This wet hopped IPA can only be brewed once a year, immediately following the hop harvest, when fresh wet hops are spirited from the farm to our brew kettle. The 2011 version features Centennial hops from the Sartori Cedar Ranch and local malted barley from Vancouver Island artisan maltster Mike Doehnel, making this a true BC harvest ale!"

But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

Lagunitas Lucky 13 Mondo Large Red Ale Anniversary Release is on the shelf firing off rounds of brown-sugary malts, toasty tastes, out of control nuttiness, & all with nearly 80 IBU of hoppy badness to boot!!!! What do you think of that, huh Callahan??
