Vancouver Craft Beer Week!!

Next week is the very first Vancouver Craft Beer Week and we are really excited!  To celebrate, we'll be bringing in a couple B.C. microbrews that we have never had at the acreage before.  I'm not going to say exactly what they are until next week - hush, hush sort of stuff - but I'm sure you are going to like em'!!

Cheers to all the great B.C. microbreweries!

Hooray Craft Beer!!

Back at the Acres…

Rejuvenated from languishing in front of glowing brick fireplaces and eating everything from jellied marshmallow salads to rum filled chocolates we have returned to the Acreage for another year of merry memory making. To kick it all off we have some exciting new beers lining our shelves. First up, Saltspring Island Ales' Fireside Winter Ale is brimming with notes of fruit, caramel, and flavourful malts. To follow we have a subtler ale, also lovely for the winter months,Dorothy Goodbody's Country Ale. Lastly, to keep some continuity with 2009, we have brought back the hugely popular and super tasty Acme IPA - floral hop aroma, with grapefruit zest and pine on the palate.

So that is that. Happy belated 2010.

A moment of reflection and lament…

Over the years we've had a lot of great friends come through the Acreage. One of the best and brightest, which many never had the chance to meet was Chimay, Six Acres' prize winning plastic toy horse. Okay, maybe Chimay never got to run her race at the track, but we loved her. Sadly, Chimay disappeared this past week. We can only hope she will meet up with other anthropomorphic toy animals and make her way home. In memory of our fallen comrade, we brought in her namesake: Chimay White Tripel.

To Chimay; we loved you.
